TROCCO Segment Builder Privacy Policy

How we handle Google user data

Last updated: October 13, 2026 [TO CONFIRM: update on publication]

日本語版 ↑

Introduction

This policy describes how primeNumber Inc. ("we", "us") handles Google user data that we obtain through Google account authorization (OAuth 2.0) in our application TROCCO Segment Builder (in Japanese: TROCCO セグメントビルダー; the "App").

Our general handling of personal information is governed by the primeNumber Privacy Policy. This policy supplements it with respect to Google user data; where the two differ, this policy prevails for Google user data.

1. About the App

The App is a business application that lets marketing teams build target audiences (segments) from customer data in their own data warehouse and deliver them as audiences to advertising platforms through TROCCO, our data integration service. The App is provided to each contracted customer in a dedicated environment and is used with accounts issued in that environment.

2. Google user data we access

The App asks you to authorize it with Google OAuth 2.0 when you register either of the following two connection types under "Settings" → "Connection services". Each connection type has its own consent screen, and the App requests only the scopes needed for the connection you are registering.

2.1 Scopes we request and how we use them

When you connect BigQuery with a Google account

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/bigquery Used to check the connection when you save it (by running a simple query), to list datasets, tables and columns, to run the count and preview queries generated from your segment conditions, and to create the delivery result tables (output_result / output_result_record) and add rows to them in the dataset you choose. The App does not modify your source tables.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/devstorage.read_only Used to let you pick a Cloud Storage bucket and folder on the BigQuery connection screen. The App reads only the list of buckets (name, location, storage class, creation time) and the list of objects (name, size, last-updated time). It does not read the contents of any object and does not write anything. The lists are only displayed on screen; the only thing stored is the path you choose.

When you connect Google Ads

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/datamanager Used to retrieve the list of Google Ads Customer Match user lists (name, ID, description). The list is used to check the connection when you register it and to let you choose the delivery destination on the job creation screen. The App does not read the contents of a list (individual customer records) and does not create, update, delete or upload to any list.

These three scopes are all the scopes the App requests.

2.2 Data we obtain or access

DataDescription
(1) OAuth tokensThe access token, refresh token and expiry issued by Google when you authorize the App, and the list of scopes you granted.
(2) BigQuery dataThe lists of datasets, tables and columns (metadata such as names and types), and the results of the connection check and of the queries (counts and previews) generated from your segment conditions. The App also creates the delivery result tables (output_result / output_result_record) and adds rows to them in the dataset you choose.
(3) Cloud Storage listingsThe name, location, storage class and creation time of buckets, and the name, size and last-updated time of objects. The App does not obtain the contents of objects.
(4) List of Google Ads user listsThe name, ID and description of Customer Match user lists, as returned by the Google Data Manager API (the API response also contains the resource name and a read-only flag). We do not access the individual customer records (email addresses, phone numbers, etc.) contained in a user list.
(5) Identifiers you enterThe Google Ads customer ID and manager (MCC) customer ID that you type into the App.

2.3 Data we do not access

The App does not access your Google account profile (such as name or email address), Google Ads campaign, bidding or billing information, the individual customer records inside a user list, or the contents of Cloud Storage objects.

3. How we use the data

We use Google user data only to provide the following features, which are visible in the App's user interface.

  1. BigQuery connection check: when you save a connection, the App runs a simple query and reports configuration errors immediately.
  2. Choosing datasets, tables and columns: the App retrieves and shows the lists of datasets, tables and columns so you can choose the data used to build a segment.
  3. Counts and previews: the App generates queries from the segment conditions you specify, runs them, and shows the counts and previews on screen.
  4. Recording delivery results: the App creates the delivery result tables (output_result / output_result_record) and adds rows to them in the dataset you choose. It does not modify your source tables.
  5. Choosing a Cloud Storage bucket and folder: on the BigQuery connection screen, the App shows the lists of buckets and objects so you can choose a path.
  6. Google Ads connection check: when you register a connection, the App verifies that it can list user lists for the customer ID you entered and reports configuration errors immediately.
  7. Choosing the destination user list: on the job creation screen, the App shows the names of user lists that already exist in your Google Ads account so you can select one as the destination. If you type a name that is not in the list, it is saved in the job definition as the name of a new user list.
  8. AI-assisted features: BigQuery metadata is used to generate queries and dashboards, within the limits described in Section 8.
  9. Keeping the authorization: the App stores the OAuth tokens and refreshes them when they expire so the features above keep working after registration.
  10. Troubleshooting and security: to investigate defects in the App and to prevent and investigate abuse, to the extent necessary.

User list creation and customer data upload are performed not by the App but by TROCCO, a separate service, using the connection that you register in TROCCO. The App does not use information received from Google Ads to create, update, delete or upload to user lists.

We do not use Google user data for serving or targeting ads, for sale or transfer to third parties, to determine creditworthiness, or to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

4. Where the data is stored and how it is protected

Storage locationThe database of your dedicated environment, which we operate in the Tokyo region (ap-northeast-1) of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Encryption at restOAuth tokens are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is managed per environment and kept separately from the database.
Encryption in transitAll traffic between your browser and the App, and between the App and Google, is encrypted with TLS.
Temporary storage during registrationOnly while you are registering a connection, the OAuth tokens and the scopes you granted are held temporarily in a signed, HttpOnly, Secure cookie in your browser. The cookie expires after at most one day, and the signature inside it expires after one hour. An authorization that does not match the connection type (one that lacks the scope required for that connection) is never used to save a connection.
Access controlOnly users who hold the "edit credentials" permission in the App can register, update or delete a BigQuery or Google Ads connection. Token values are never shown on screen or returned by the API.
BigQuery metadata and query resultsThe definitions (names, types, etc.) of the tables and columns you register for segment building, and a cache of metadata for the AI-assisted features, are stored in the database of your dedicated environment. Count and preview results are displayed on screen. [TO CONFIRM: which query results (counts, aggregated column values, etc.) are stored in the database]
Delivery result tablesCreated in your own BigQuery (the dataset you choose), not in our environment.
Cloud Storage listingsDisplayed each time they are fetched and not stored in the App. The only thing stored is the path you choose.
List of Google Ads user listsDisplayed each time it is fetched and not stored in the App. Only the user list name you select or enter is stored as part of the job definition.
LoggingRegistration and deletion of connections are recorded in the audit log. Tokens and secrets are never written to logs.

5. Sharing, transfer and disclosure

We do not sell Google user data to third parties, and we do not transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers or information resellers. We share or disclose Google user data only in the following cases.

  • TROCCO (our own service): to execute the delivery jobs you create, the App sends TROCCO, which we operate, a job definition (including the query that extracts the segment, the Cloud Storage path you chose, and the user list name you selected or entered together with the customer ID). OAuth tokens are not sent to TROCCO.
  • Cloud infrastructure provider: the App is hosted on AWS and data is stored on AWS infrastructure. The AI-assisted features described in Section 8 use models on Amazon Bedrock, a service provided by AWS. AWS processes data only on our instructions.
  • Legal requirements: when required to comply with applicable law, a court order or a lawful request from a public authority.
  • Security: when necessary to investigate abuse or a defect.
  • Business transfer: as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, after obtaining your explicit prior consent.

6. Retention and deletion

OAuth tokensRetained while the BigQuery or Google Ads connection (credential) is registered in the App. When you delete the credential on the "Connection services" screen, the tokens are deleted from your environment's database. When you re-authorize, the old tokens are overwritten by the new ones. Automated database backups are retained for 7 days, so deleted tokens remain in backups, still encrypted, for up to 7 days.
BigQuery metadataThe metadata cache for the AI-assisted features is overwritten each time it is refreshed and is deleted when you delete the BigQuery connection. [TO CONFIRM: retention of registered table and column definitions and of query results]
Cloud Storage listingsNot stored in the App. The path you choose is retained while the setting that uses it is registered.
List of Google Ads user listsNot stored in the App.
User list name and customer ID in a job definitionRetained until you delete the job.
End of contractWhen your contract ends, we decommission your dedicated environment and delete the data in it. [TO CONFIRM: deadline for deletion after contract end]

You can delete the data or revoke access at any time by any of the following means.

  • Delete the BigQuery or Google Ads credential under "Settings" → "Connection services" in the App.
  • Revoke the App's access (TROCCO Segment Builder) from your Google account's Third-party apps & services page. After revocation the tokens held by the App become invalid.
  • Ask us to delete the data using the contact at the end of this policy. We will verify the request and delete the data within a reasonable period.

7. Compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy

TROCCO Segment Builder's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In particular, we limit our use of Google user data to providing and improving the user-facing features of the App, we do not transfer it except as described in Section 5, and we do not use it for serving ads, for sale to data brokers, to determine creditworthiness, or to train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

8. AI and machine learning

We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

If you register a BigQuery connection with a Google account, the App's AI-assisted features may use metadata of that BigQuery project (such as table and column names) as input when generating queries or dashboards at your request. This use is limited to features provided in the App's user interface, and the data is never used for model training. [TO CONFIRM: the column auto-classification and label-suggestion feature is implemented to send sampled values and aggregated category values extracted from tables to the AI model. If this feature is enabled for BigQuery connections signed in with a Google account, state here that the input includes "samples of column values".]

Data obtained through the Google Ads connection (the list of user lists and the OAuth tokens) is not used as input to the App's AI-assisted features.

9. Human access

Our staff access Google user data only when you have agreed to it in order to resolve a support request, when necessary for security investigations, or when necessary to comply with applicable law. OAuth tokens are encrypted and are not viewed by our staff in normal operations.

10. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when the App's features or applicable law change. If a change materially affects how we handle Google user data, we will notify you before it takes effect through a notice in the App or by email to the administrators of your environment. The current policy is always available on this page.
